About Me

Psychodynamic Counsellor Based In Welwyn Garden City

I’m Amanda Critchley, I trained with the BPC accredited Enfield Counselling Psychotherapy Service and am a psychodynamic counsellor.

I see clients about a wide range of issues:
Depression, anxiety, bereavement, menopause, addiction, relationship problems, chronic illness, trauma, stress, abuse, family issues, low self-esteem for example.

I have backgrounds in both education and mental healthcare. I also have extensive training in neurodiversity, particularly Autism and ADHD. I am also trained in GSRD. I believe being open and honest with a client aids working through problems and difficulties a person may be experiencing in life. Typically the first few sessions would be looking at what goals you would like to set, getting to know each other and exploring a way to work together.

It is important to me to ensure that you feel comfortable and you are able to connect with myself, the room and the encompassing environment around us. It is important to work through any questions you may have or anything within the room that feels difficult for you or any challenges you are facing.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) I am also DBS checked.
