Neurodiversity and Disability Support

A safe, affirming space with genuine understanding

I have significant experience working with a diverse range of clients, including those who are neurodivergent, for example people who are autistic, ADHD or dyspraxic. Neurodiversity is a personal and professional passion of mine. The experiences of neurodiverse people with masking, exhaustion, holding in their emotions, self-esteem etc, family life, friendships, relationships, school and work lives, anxiety, depression and the neurotypical world. Family members, the support network and carers, how supporting a neurodiverse person has a kaleidoscope of implications and emotions.

I am also passionate about supporting individuals from all walks of life, including those with chronic health conditions and disabilities. I strive to create an environment where each person’s identity, experience, and voice are respected and valued, whilst recognising the unique strengths and challenges they face.

I aim to support clients reclaim their agency, fostering self-worth, and navigating life in ways that feel authentic and affirming to them, while recognising, respecting, and supporting the many ways people perceive, process, and interact with the world around them.

I aim to make the counselling experience as adaptable as possible, For example I will endeavour to reduce lighting, noise or sensory issues where possible. I provide a basket of fiddle toys for sensory soothing. My consulting room is wheelchair accessible. I aim to create a welcoming, inclusive space where everyone feels respected and valued.

Social story

Off Mandeville Rise is a quiet close of 4 houses. In the summer a leafy arbour shelters the entrance. Parking is restricted between 9am and 11am on the road but is available on my drive.

Front door to the left, ring doorbell. Please don’t worry if you hear Olive my dalmatian, even if you do hear her, she will never be around or greet you. But you might see her through the patio doors in the garden occasionally.

The hall does not have anywhere to wait for your appointment time, so please arrive no more that 5 minutes before you are due to start, however there is a toilet available. The counselling room is ahead of you.

The counselling room is a calm and welcoming space with large patio doors providing lots of light and a view onto the garden and some of the 12 mature oak trees that ring the house.
